On weekdays, I work as a programmer at a company, but on weekends, I am active as an artist under the pen name Valshia. I create pen art using a white pen on black paper with the concept of “The appearance changes depending on the person who sees it” For example, when people see my work, one person might say, “It looks like there’s a bird here,” while another, looking at the exact same spot in the same piece, might say, “It looks like a turtle shell to me,” or “It seems like a dolphin is swimming there.” Even though I don’t intend to depict any specific creature, people perceive a variety of things depending on their perspective. I believe this ambiguity is what makes my artwork intriguing and captivating. I hope that when people look at my work, they can enjoy exchanging opinions like, “I see something like this,” whether it’s with family, friends, or even when they’re meeting someone for the first time. There might be a creature only you can see hidden in my art—try finding it!
